The Management Staff
Martin Hain, P. E.
President
mwhain@kcevt.comMartin has been practicing structural engineering since 1980. He has supervised the structural engineering department at Knight Consulting Engineers since 1993 and has served as president of the company since 1998. He specializes in the design and analysis of new structural systems as well as upgrades and expansions of existing facilities. He also specializes in the analysis of existing and failed structural systems. Martin holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering Degree from the University of Iowa and a Master of Structural Engineering Degree from Cornell University. He is a licensed professional engineer in Vermont, New Hampshire, New York, Massachusetts, and Maine.
Eric Goddard, P. E.
Senior Vice President
egoddard@kcevt.comEric has over 18 years of experience in the field of Civil Engineering and both analysis and design experience with geotechnical investigations, slope stability, foundations, structures, commercial/industrial sites and utilities, industrial waste systems, pump stations, and hydrology & hydraulics. Eric received his B.S. degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from the University of Vermont in 1986 and received his Civil/Structural PE License from the State of Vermont in 1991. Eric is currently a project manager for Civil/Geotechnical projects.
Matthew Chapek
Associate
mchapek@kcevt.comMatt has over 25 years of experience in design, building, and roofing systems specifications. He received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute in 1975 and has been with our company since 1982. In addition to being a consultant with our design team, he manages our company payroll, pension plan, and human resources.
Nancy Vincent
Office Manager
nmvincent@kcevt.comNancy has been our office manager and bookkeeper since joining our team in 2001. A graduate of the Lyndon Institute School of Business, Nancy adds valuable expertise in that area.

Barbara Evans
Senior Engineer
bevans@kcevt.comBarb Evans is a Professional Engineer with over 18 years of experience in structural design of commercial, industrial, educational and residential structures. She is also experienced in forensics, construction consultation and civil/site design. Barb has been a Vermont registered engineer since 1991 and is also licensed in New York, New Hampshire and Pennsylvania. Other registrations include Agency of Natural Resources certifications, including Site Technician A/B, OSHA Confined Space Entry, NCEES verified engineering record and LEED Accredited-Professional.
Matthew Simmons
Assistant Engineer
msimmons@kcevt.comMatt, a graduate from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a degree in Civil Engineering and a minor in Engineering Management, has been with the company since May 2005. His experience is primarily focused in structural design of concrete and steel structures.

Robert Lovgren, P. E.
Senior Engineer
rlovgren@kcevt.comBob has been with our company since 1979 and has over 25 years experience in a wide range of engineering and construction activities. As a Senior Project Engineer, his primary responsibility is the coordination and supervision of all laboratory and field materials testing and inspection activities. Bob has professional registration in both Vermont and New Hampshire.
Peter Rixford
Senior TechnicianPete has been with our company since 1985 and has over 21 years of experience in construction activities. Specifically Pete has experience in various engineering inspections, field materials testing, laboratory testing, and extensive asphalt experience. His certifications include ACI Concrete Field Testing Grade I and Nuclear/Moisture Density Gauge Safety Training.
Paul Elkert
Technician
pelkert@kcevt.comPaul has been with our company since 2003 and has over 18 years experience in construction activities, such as, engineering inspection, field materials testing, laboratory testing, and extensive concrete finishing experience. His certifications include ACI Concrete Field Testing Grade I, NCDOT Level II and Nuclear/Moisture Density Gauge Safety Training.
Marcus Nestor
Lab and Field Technician
lab@kcevt.comMarcus is Troxler Nuclear Gague and ACI 1 certified, and has been with Knight Consulting Engineers Inc. since 2006. He gained Lab and Field Testing experience working for Vermont Testing and Geotechnical Associates in Baltimore, Md. He holds an A.S. Degree from Johnson State College.
